Trilogy Academy Competitive Program
Trilogy Academy Competitive Program is the competitive stream and selection of classes for a dancer at our studio. Dancers will participate in a variety of disciplines to build a well-rounded dance and baton twirling education. Classes are offered in Acro, Ballet, Baton Twirling, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Tap. Group routines will be choreographed in these classes and dancers will participate in studio attended competitions as well as the year end recital. Dancers in the Competitive Program will be eligible to apply for a solo or duet.
Acro
Ages 7+
This program is for our dancers and twirlers aged 7 to adult. Acro focuses on strength, balance, and flexibility while combining dance and tumbling. Students will be guided through a structured program that promotes goal setting and achievement. This class provides opportunities to improve technique and body awareness that is an asset for all our dancers and twirlers.
This class will be an addition to a dancer’s existing competitive program schedule to enhance technique and strength. Students enrolled in this class will likely not compete an Acro routine at competition, nor perform at year-end recital, although that decision will ultimately made by the class teacher. No costume fee necessary for this class.
The Friday Acro Exam & Choreo classes will be invite only. Students and parents will be notified if they are chosen to participate.

Ballet
AGES 7+
Elegance. Grace. Artistry. Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles that Trilogy Academy offers. Dancers will be trained under The Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) syllabus and will work towards their R.A.D. examinations. Our ballet classes will focus on classical technique, precision, artistry, strength and grace.
Ballet is a mandatory class for any dancer in Trilogy Academy’s competitive program. Classes will be offered 2-3 times a week. Student’s existing experience and exam credentials will be considered when placing into a class.

Baton Twirling
AGES 7+
Looking for something to combine the athleticism and the world of sports with the artistry and grace of dance? Baton twirling is for you! From the first time you hold a baton in your hand and twirl it through your fingers, you’ll be hooked! Develop strong hand eye coordination, train as an athlete, and learn so many valuable skills that will take you far in life. Trilogy Academy students have the unique opportunity to participate in a world recognized sport that has the potential to take them to local, national and international competitions. The possibilities and opportunities are endless with the world of Baton Twirling! Lead by Head Coach and Trilogy Academy’s very own Kellie Towriss, World Baton Twirling Bronze Medalist in the Team Division and Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame inductee. This program is for athletes ages 7+. Each program is tailored to the needs and goals of our athletes. We are excited to develop the best program for your athlete!
Classes will be offered twice a week. Personalized training programs will be developed as athletes progress through the CBTF (Canadian Baton Twirling Federation) long-term development model. To be eligible to enroll in a Competitive Program Baton Twirling Class, enrollment in an Acro class is mandatory.

Contemporary
Ages 9+
This program is for our dancers in the competitive program. Contemporary is currently one of the most popular and beautiful styles to both dance and watch. This class will focus on modern elements with unique and creative choreography.
Classes will be offered once a week. Student’s existing experience and exam credentials will be considered when placing into a class. In order to register for a Competitive Contemporary Class, a dancer must be registered in other classes in the Trilogy Competitive Program.

Hip Hop
Ages 7+
This program is high energy, fun, and perfect for dancers who have an enthusiastic personality! Learn hip hop fundamentals, various styles, exciting choreography and trending moves through this dynamic program.
No pre-requisites or requirements are necessary to register for competitive hip hop at Trilogy Academy.

Jazz/Lyrical
Ages 7+
The most universally loved dance discipline! Our Jazz classes are fun, upbeat and energetic! With an emphasis on technique, flexibility and style dancers will love struttin’ their stuff while advancing through the program. Dancers ages 7+ will follow the ADAPT Jazz syllabus that includes centre warm up, barre, across the floor progressions, and combos. Student’s will be trained and given the opportunity to participate in ADAPT Jazz examinations.
Classes are offered 1-2 times per week depending on age and level. Student’s existing experience and exam credentials will be considered when placing into a class. To be eligible to enroll in a Competitive Program Jazz Class, enrollment in a Competitive Program Ballet class is mandatory and Acro is encouraged.

MUSICAL THEATRE
AGES 7+
Trilogy Academy Musical Theatre combines a love for singing, dancing, and acting! Our musical theatre program develops creative and compelling storytelling through music, theatre, and dance. This program is for those looking to advance already established musical theatre training, as well as for those looking to get started or try something new! There is something for everyone at Trilogy Musical Theatre, most of all a whole lot of fun!
Dancer must be registered in other dance classes in either the Trilogy Competitive or Performance Program.

Tap
Ages 7+
Tap dancing gets your feet moving and puts the rhythm in your heart! Through the tap program at Trilogy Academy, students will become not only tap dancers, but musicians. Tap is like dancing with two musical instruments on your feet! If you love music, dance and finding the beat that brings it all together… Tap is for you! Following the CDTA syllabus lead by certified staff, a dancer’s tap education at Trilogy Academy honours the roots of tap-dancing dating back to Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire… to what Tap dancing has become around the world today… a universal language that we speak with our feet!
Classes are offered 1-2 times a week depending on age and level. Student’s existing experience and exam credentials will be considered when placing into a class. To be eligible to enroll in a Competitive Program Tap Class, enrollment in a Jazz class is mandatory.
